I love this scripture because I feel it entails all aspects of life. It includes everything from having a plan or vision for your family to implementing that plan. One of the principles that I have been learning lately is how to have a "house of order". I first understood this to mean only our physical environment, (I love to have an orderly area!) but have recently been thinking of other aspects we need to have order. Other than following a plan to get to your destination or obeying certain laws to get certain blessings or positive consequences, which those choices are definitely about having order, I have realized there probably has to be order in our relationships. I have concluded bonding/trust is the first step and when that bond or trust is not there, one should go back to build it. I know I am in the process of creating this order in relationships with one of my children. What is that next step to having order in our relationships? Is this rectification the only part?
May 2nd- This past weekend I learned that for me to have order in relation to my relationships with my children, I should make sure my relationships are in order first with God, then with my spouse. I realize only after I have my priorities in proper order(God, spouse, children), then will I be able to have greater harmony in relationships with my children and extended family.

Our New Baby
Samuel Fjeldsted Hansen was born at home on Sunday, January 7, 2007 at 3:01 p.m. He weighted 8lbs and was 20 1/2 inches long. Mom's labor was realitvely easy. At 2:45 p.m., after talking to Opa in the kitchen, she decided it was time to get to the bath tub. That didn't happen because Samuel was on his way. Samuel's arm came out with his head and it was all over. He turned the perfect pink color and was just perfect.
We are so glad he is here. He is such a delight!
TJED Family Ball
Jacob's feet were a blur! What a guy.
Joseph knows how to lead! What another guy. He is learning justified self-esteem! Isaac says that its the obscure, little known french dance called Y`ankherarmoff.
Why do we attend Balls? Since we began on this path of Leadership training with our children, we have come to understand many different environments which are important in training leaders. Attending a formal black or white tie event will help us and our children be familiar with the formal world. Great leaders like Churchill, Lincoln, Jefferson, and Adams did not fit into the mold, but they were familiar with the mold, knew its language, and knew how to effectively not fit in. A Statesman in formal events is one who is "calm, sure, confident, not easily swayed but always openly optimistic, interested in others more than self". By attending these formal events yearly, we are learning to be calm, sure, and confident (not self-conscious or self-absorbed) so we can be "comfortable following spiritual promptings that are needed in formal settings where many important decisions are made".
This year mom learned how to be more confident in such settings. Joseph was sure of himself and was adding to his confidence. Jacob was learning to not miss opportunities (b/c he has previously regretted not talking to certain friends) in addition to calm, assured, and confident. Mary was so excited to blow-out her candles! She didn't even light her hair on fire.
Mary got a new bike, some bubbles, a waterbottle, jewelry, and a dress that mommy made.
