Watermellon

The kids have an strange fascination with watermellon. They kind of get carried away sometimes.

Sheesh.

Happy 6th Birthday Joseph! - May 16th

We started as per usual with pots and pans and hot cakes.
We then proceeded with presents.

We ended the day at the park playing baseball with extended family. It was a cousin, Aunt and Uncle game. Uncle Erik played hard. Cousin Andrew also did a great job.Joseph at park with his brother Jacob and cousin Andrew.

Monticello, Utah

We visited Monticello for two days and fell in love with the area. The elevation is roughly 7,500 feet. We were so surprised to see such beautiful views and the most accessable mountain. From this mountain side, one can view into Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. We don't think we'll be surprised if we end up here one day.

Hidden here is a turkey. We saw eight in a short drive up the canyon.

This lake is ten minutes up the canyon road from the neighborhoods in Monticello. Our friend says he has fresh trout for dinner two times a week.

This is a view of Blue Mountain within, looking south from a cliff area above a lake.

We hiked up to a cliff area above one of the small lakes and found a small basin.
Here is a two mile walking trail around this beautiful lake five minutes from the neighborhoods.

This is Blue Mountain. The land you see under the mountain is future home to George Wythe Collage (University when it gets here); a small private school training Statesman.

Here is another view of GWC property.

There are many scrub oak trees and wild flowers on this property as well as tall pines and sage brush.

Scout-O-Ramma

Scout -O-Ramma was a blast! We found it was hard to leave because at every booth there was another learning opportunity. Geography, animal tracks, rope making, history of scouting, games, crafts, rock climbing, computer safety, stick pull, push-up contests, etc.

Enjoying Dress-Up

Jacob and Joseph love to dress up and play war games. Here are two times they 'had at it.' Mary Emmaline sometimes thinks she is a guy with them.

Here they are putting on a play-a Lamanite and Nephite battle scene.
Mary Emmaline also likes to play with mommy in the kitchen. Actually, she was helping Dad this day. Dad was called away for a minute and came back to this.

Samuel's a happy boy!

Here is 4 month old Samuel with a quilt from Oma Felsted.

Joseph and Samuel

Joseph is always ready to hold and help out with Samuel. At this time, he changes more diapers than Dad or Jacob. Here is a moment when Joseph saw Samuel laying on the bed and immediately picked him up.
