More Chemistry

Mentoring by Opa and Oma, Dr. Biochemist and Sister Chemist as well as by Dad Chemist.

This has been a love for Jacob.

The Children's Christmas Tree

This year, the children chose the tree, put on the lights and all the ornaments. It was rather nice.

Winter Activities part I

These are some of our winter activities. Take a look.
We did a 12 days of Christmas for a neighbor boy. The children loved getting dressed up in dark clothes to ding-dong and leave the present on the doorstep.

Jacob is Nine!

Morning: Birthday breakfast.
Then presents.
Jacob had the best birthday ever. He received a Chemistry kit put together by Dad. Real glass beakers, flasks and recipes to make green flame and silly putty. He was on "cloud 9." He enjoyed playing with his experiments all day. Here he separated the pink glow stick color.

Evening: Birthday cake and a wagon ride. Here we were being pulled by two stout horses at Thanksgiving Point.

Lights on Temple Square

We love to visit Temple Square (a square city block where the pioneers build a temple) and see the lights. We have some favorite trees. The red Cedar of Lebanon has been our favorite for the past eleven years.

We also love the fountains. The children think it's fun to put their hands, feet or whatever part of their body they can, into the fountains.
Here is another beautiful display of lights with the Salt Lake Temple in the background. Personally, the temple is what makes this view beautiful.

Christmas Tree Hunting

We have been christmas tree hunting since our oldest was one. It is so fun to carry on this tradition. Katie grew up with pictures similar to this very one. Thank you Mom and Dad!
And thank you to our Dad for helping this happen!
This is so interesting to me. Here the children are in the background as well as the beautiful mountain. But, the interesting thing is the mullen growing. Here, on the mountain side, the mullen plant (herb) has covered the open places. The other interesting aspect is the thistle plant is also growing all around. When I first started learning about plants, I learned that when God puts a good plant there will also be a plant that pesters man, a harmful plant. The plan was that there would be opposition in all things. That goes for plants also. Thistle is a plant that pokes and makes our skin swell up and sting. Mullen will help that wound by breaking up the congestion, swelling, stinging, and itching, healing the wound. It is good for many other aliments also. God has given us all that we need on this earth to live full heathly and complete lives. And more! Laus Deo! (Praise be to God.)

Ogden Dinosaur Park

This place has sound effects as you walk around the path.

They also had a robotic dinosaur. Fun place. We recommend it.
